In 1908, Ann Javis organized a memorial for her mother and this is the beginning of the present-day celebration of Mother’s Day. In 1911, because of her persistent struggles, many of the US states started celebrating Mother’s Day as a local holiday. However, Ann Jarvis home state, West Virginia became the first state to declare Mother’s Day holiday in 1910. Eventually, Sunday of May was officially declared as Mother’s Day America. Just after Woodrow Wilson, the 28th President of the United States of America signed the proclamation in the year 1914 Mother’s Day was declared as a national holiday. Therefore, this day became the day for Mother’s Day celebrations across all states in the US while adopted by other countries like Italy, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Singapore, Belgium, and so on.
